After working nearly exclusively with either digital or gouache for 2 years, I felt a call to use the skills I had developed from those two mediums and familiarize myself with acrylic. Taking inspiration from the spectacular skies of Texas, I would take scenic pictures of dramatic skies, and then work to finish the painting in one sitting. To both teach myself how to be more intentional with my brush strokes and to begin to develop a looser more impressionistic style.
