While many of my pieces depict fairly explicit scenes, I aim to create pieces that have an air of romance and intimacy between the people in the scene. While this can be done through the assets in the scene itself, I also love to do so by playing with the light sources of the piece. Particularly, to have the sources of deep pleasure hold the luminescence for the scene, creating a fantasy-esque feeling to the composition. "Light & Oils" was a chance for me to play with this pleasurable luminescence. To develop a better understanding of the translucence of oil pastels and their ability to build up bold colors.
