A lot of my work, both in art and sex education, focuses on the connection we have with ourselves and how that feeds into our ability to explore our sexuality, creatively play with our sensuality, and discover pleasure access points. As I have been developing my sense of style with linoleum carving and printmaking, I wanted to use those themes and incorporate them into the shadow-work of the pieces. I integrated a fingerprint-like design to differentiate the shadows of the pieces from the true darks as both an aesthetic choice and, as a way to explore how our identities are tied to our sexual expression.
